Unbelievably for a bank holiday Monday we awoke to a lovely
warm morning. We were soon organised and set off via the BCs to pick up a few
things.
We knew that the journey to our accommodation in Lowick would take about 3 and
a half hours and assumed the roads would be fairly quiet. This was true
to start with and we were soon at Wetherby services for a pitstop. It was
extremely busy with travellers and dogs.
The second half of the journey was more eventful. The roads were busy and
we also saw a car on fire just near Newcastle.
Eventually we arrived at the house which would be our home for the next few
days. It is surrounded by countryside and will suit us very well.
The BCs arrived shortly after us as they called in at Barter Books.
We enjoyed a post travel drink in the garden whilst James played football and
then it was pizza al fresco. Later on in the evening, Bowie was not happy
to find a cow with her 3 calves taunting him over the garden fence.
